The Gulf is in the middle of one of its biggest construction cycles in decades. Between Saudi Arabia’s giga-projects, the UAE’s continuous infrastructure pipeline, and Qatar, Oman and Kuwait’s own expansion programmes, demand for skilled trades shows no sign of slowing through 2026. Here’s where the work actually is, and which trades are best positioned to benefit.

Saudi Arabia — the giga-project engine

Vision 2030 developments — NEOM, the Red Sea Project, Diriyah Gate, Qiddiya and AlUla — are collectively driving demand for well over 100,000 construction professionals. These aren’t short-term contracts; many of these developments are multi-year builds with staged hiring running years into the future.

UAE — continuous, broad-based demand

The UAE’s construction sector keeps growing across residential, commercial and infrastructure work, with projects like the Etihad Rail network and ongoing Expo 2030 buildout adding to an already active real estate market. Unlike a single mega-project, this demand is spread across many employers and sites, which means steadier year-round hiring.

Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain — steady, project-linked demand

Qatar continues investing in commercial and transport infrastructure as part of its post-World Cup expansion. Oman and Kuwait see more concentrated demand tied to industrial, maintenance and energy-related projects. Hiring volumes here are smaller than Saudi Arabia or the UAE, but demand within these specific sectors remains stable.

Which trades are most in demand

These are exactly the trades we train and certify candidates in at Reliance TTC — if you’re building toward one of these roles, certification is often what separates a shortlisted application from an overlooked one.

2026 offers strong prospects for candidates with the right skills, certifications and site experience.

What to check before you sign

A strong job market doesn’t mean every offer is a good one. Before accepting a construction role in the Gulf, confirm the contract is registered on the relevant official labour portal, that working hours and overtime rates are clearly stated, and that accommodation, transport and food arrangements are confirmed in writing — not promised verbally.
